Questions buyers ask
Before you book
اکثر پوچھے جانے والے سوالات
Everything a first-time buyer asks us on WhatsApp, answered once. If your question is not here, send it; we reply the same day.
How do I book an animal?
Send the animal's name or code on WhatsApp (0322 2790772). We confirm it is still available, share fresh photos or a video, and arrange your visit. The booking is confirmed at the farm after you have seen the animal, with a token amount agreed on the day.
Can I see the animal before booking?
Yes, and we prefer it. Every animal can be seen walking at the farm. Visits are by appointment so the team can give you time; message before you come.
Where are the animals kept?
At two sheds: Branch 1 at Plot 74 and 75, Karachi Cattle and Dairy City, opposite Bahria Town, and Branch 2 at Jameel Memon Society. Ask which branch holds the animal you like before you set out.
Are prices listed on the website?
No. Prices depend on weight, age, breed line and how close it is to Eid, so we quote on WhatsApp for the specific animal. The weight on the site is approximate and is confirmed on the animal at the farm.
What does 'maund' mean?
One maund is 40 kilograms of live weight. A 10 maund bull weighs about 400 kg on the hoof. Meat yield is a share of live weight and depends on the animal's build; the farm will explain what to expect for the animal you choose.
How old should a Qurbani bull be?
For cattle, the animal should be at least two years old by the common religious ruling. Age is judged by the teeth: a bull with at least two permanent front teeth (do daant) is accepted as two years or more. Every animal here can be checked on the day.
Can several families share one bull?
Yes. A bull or cow can be divided into up to seven shares (hissay). Groups book the animal together and the farm notes each share against the booking.
What happens after I book?
The animal is tagged with your name and stays at the farm on the same feed routine until the delivery date you choose. You are welcome to visit it in the meantime.
Do you deliver?
Yes, across Karachi, in the days before Eid. Transport is arranged per animal and the charge depends on the area; it is agreed at booking. Collection from the farm is also possible.
Is the animal vaccinated and healthy?
Animals are kept under regular veterinary care at the farm. Ask for the animal's health record and recent checks when you visit; the team will show you.
What if the animal falls sick before Eid?
Tell us immediately on WhatsApp. The farm's vet will see the animal, and the arrangement for any serious case is agreed in writing at booking so there is no confusion later.
Which breeds do you keep?
Mostly the heavy white Sibbi and Bhagnari lines and Cholistani crosses that do well in the Karachi show ring, with some Sudanese and other crosses. The breed line is listed on each animal's page.
When should I book?
Early. The named, show-quality animals go first, usually well before Ramadan. The collection grows through the season, so if you want a particular size or colour, tell us and we will send photos as animals arrive.
Can I keep the animal at the farm until Eid?
Yes. Most buyers leave the animal with us until the last days before Eid so it stays on the same feed and care. The delivery date is agreed when you book.
Do you take part in cattle shows?
Yes. The farm is a member of DALFA and has shown at the DALFA Cattle Show for three seasons. Jasper received a beauty award there. Show animals are listed in the collection like any other.
How do I reach the farm?
Karachi Cattle and Dairy City is opposite Bahria Town Karachi on the Super Highway (M-9) side. Use the Google Maps link on the Visit page and message us on arrival; someone will meet you at the plot.
